A Confident Wardrobe
This isn’t a blog to tell you what you need in your closet, there are no magic pants or tank tops that will make your wardrobe perfect. This is about no matter what your closet consists of, if you love it, then it’s already perfect. If you’re confident in what you’re wearing- everyone else will want to wear it too.
Now, if you don’t love what’s in your closet, sell it on the internet and get some new stuff. There’s no shame in my Facebook marketplace game!! It’s better to have a few pieces that you love than a whole closet full of clothes that make you feel yuck. I’m not sure about y’all, but I work harder, am more confident, and am just happier when I feel good. There’s no shame in that! In the wise words of Deion Sanders, “If you look good, you feel good, if you feel good, you play good, if you play good, they pay good.”
My wardrobe is a lot like my Spotify playlists, ranging everywhere from Dolly Parton to Post Malone. One day I’m country chic, the next I’m in band tees and combat boots. I hate being stuck in one style. I want to keep a wide range of clothes, so that I can dress for what I’m feeling that day. I love to switch things up in my closet and only keep pieces that I’m comfortable in.
Here are some quick tips for making your wardrobe everything you want and more:
- A confident wardrobe is all about feeling good enough in your own skin and having clothes, accessories, and more that express that! I pull lots of inspiration from people; Haley Bieber (minus the heels #momlife), and Pinterest, of course! Find your inspiration and run with it.
- Sell that itchy sweater that you got from your mother-in-law at Christmas last year and buy something you like! If she asks where it’s at, quickly change the subject to how much you love her son (this especially works if your husbands a Mama’s boy)!
- Do some research on clothes that look good on your body. There’s no point in having clothes that you don’t feel good in. Example: low rise jeans. I don’t know about y’all but those are a heck no from me. High waisted jeans here I come!!
- There are so many pieces that are worth investing in; jeans, boots, and jackets! Things that will last and get used often. It’s okay to splurge! I talked to your bestie, she said it’s okay!
- Stay confident in what you love! Don’t follow trends if you don’t actually like them. Stay in skinny jeans forever if you want. As long as you promise to leave the bump-its in the 2000s.
